There were two stamps. The black stamps are better known as "Penny Blacks". The blue stamps are only known by specialists. Nine years later Germany issued stamps too. The first german stamps were Bavarian, next followed the stamps of Saxony. France issued the first stamps in1849. Denmark followed with the first stamps in 1850.
